Uffington White Horse: The Uffington White Horse in Oxfordshire, UK, is a highly stylised prehistoric hill figure, 110 metres long (374 feet), formed from deep trenches filled with crushed white chalk. The figure has been shown to date back some 3,000 years, to the Bronze Age. It has long been debated whether the chalk figure was intended to represent a horse or some other animal. However, it has been called a horse since the eleventh century at least. Many crop circles have appeared on the farm land surrounding the White Horse over the years and the site is a favourite amongst crop circle enthusiasts.
