An exhilarating helicopter ride over the 2012 crop circles!
2012 was a much-anticipated year, it has been much vaunted – the end of a great ancient cycle of time, symbolised by the end of the Mayan calendar. Had we had now reached a significant marker in time, was some kind great revelation or disclosure about to unfold? Certainly, the 2012 crop circle season would be significant in the run up to the last day of this cycle, December 21st; they would serve as geometric stained glass windows through which we may glimpse the light of deeper unconscious archetypes and wider cosmological patterns at work.

Continuing on from our 2011 film ‘Altered Landscape’, our 2012 film ‘Depth of Fields’ is full of many different photographic textures. We have woven together super-sharp video with old film stocks and tilt-shift photography to capture the atmosphere and mood of the crop circles and their magical landscapes. We have also included a number of Karen Alexander’s beautiful crop circles drawings and paintings to shed light on the design and geometry of the 2012 circles. As usual this film is filled with Steve Alexanders stunning footage from the air and on the ground. This film is the next best thing to being in the fields during 2012 and will lift you out of your armchair and into the fields! Set to an atmospheric soundtrack, with no narration, there is nothing to impede your full immersion into the countryside. This film sets out to convey the visual and emotional impact of these beautiful creations and in doing so, we hope, it echoes something of the intent of the circles themselves.
