Flight: This location would usually be well outside our usual area of coverage and operation. However, because this was such a beautiful formation we decided that we would seek to cover it. The flight was extraordinary, the south coast of the UK is stunningly beautiful, with its small harbours, coves and beaches. Add to the mix a beautiful sunny day, with just a scattering of fluffy clouds and the enchantment was complete. We’ve added a few of the pictures Karen shot from the helicopter of the views – so as to share them with you.

We were inhibited on this flight by not being able to fly below 500ft, because of prevailing regulations on the day. Nevertheless, Steve was able to take some stunning high altitude shots showing the formation in the landscape and its proximity to the coastline

Visiting: You will need to seek permission from the farmer to enter this field. Do not enter without their permission.

Location & History: This is a new location for the crop circle phenomenon. It lies just inside the Devonshire country line on the south coast of the UK, near to the picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis, on what is called the Jurassic coast, known for its prehistoric fossils. There are at least three ancient hillforts closeby, Hardown hillfort, Abbotsbury hillfort and Eggardon hillfort. The landscape is scattered with ancient tumuli, making this an area that has been inhabited by humans for thousands of years.

You can read about the fascinating Hardown hillfort and barrow cemetery here

About this crop circle: This crop circle is made from fifteen rings joined together in a ring. Fifteen is an unusual geometry for the crop circles, but I look forward to drawing it.

Please see the Geometry Gallery below for more details as we have them.

Visiting the Circles? If you are thinking of visiting any crop circles this summer, please read our Visiting the Crop Circles section. It’s full of useful information and etiquette for visiting the countryside and the crop circles. Please remember that you should not enter any fields without the express permission of the farmer.

Please Help to keep us Flying in 2025: We hope to take to the skies again in 2025 to record the circles that appear this summer. If you have enjoyed looking at our pictures and information please consider making a small donation to keep us flying. There are so few of us left regularly recording the circles it’s really important that we continue. And while some now use drones to record the circles, it is important that there are still images taken from aircraft where the best quality camera equipment can be used and images that include the broad vista of the landscape can be taken. This kind of photography is expensive and it gets harder with each passing year to raise the funds we need to continue our work, but if everyone who regularly looked at this website made a small donation we would meet the funds we need. You can make a donation here.
