Cow Down, nr East Kennett, Wiltshire

This is a curious little formation, a flattened circle with a standing isosceles triangle inside. At first I wondered if this might be a 72 degree triangle (as found in a pentagram), but this triangle appeared to be a 76 degree angle triangle. Clearly more work need to done on this formation at a later date. Another feature of note is the line in the laid crop which you can clearly see in the photos below. It seems to create a 3D effect to the triangle. The formation measured approximately 120ft in diameter and was in a field of mature wheat.

Geometry Gallery

Of note when drawing this crop circle was the Golden Section proportion which places the perimeter of the bottom circles, top circle and the middle of the two central circles. This is no doubt why this formation has a pleasing effect on the eye.
